— Napoleon Hill
John White is my cousin. He is a singer, songwriter, author, teacher, psychologist and just happens to live on an organic olive farm in a home that he built of straw bales and recycled materials. His faith has lead to these many achievements.
As a part of his role in the restorative justice programme he recorded an album entitled "No Bars Hold." Later using the themes of the song for each chapter he created a book of the same name.
One song on the CD is "The Sky's No Limit" and if you think about how limiting our words are most would say the skies the limit. Firstly that is more than a bit outdated since the human race have ventured into space and even to the moon. Yet still we think the skies the limit.
Maybe the Earth is really flat too.
The main challenge we suffer from is not updating our thinking.
Reading and understanding books like Napoleon Hills "Think And Grow Rich" serves to expand not only our thinking.
It also expands our capacity to think.
It trains the mental muscle and helps keep it supple and strong and it's well documented that it keeps the mind young.
Having had the good fortune of knowing quite a few octogenarians it is very apparent that looks can be deceiving. The body might not do all that it used to, but the wit and the wisdom behind those kind, wise, compassionate eyes can give hope to anyone afraid of today or tomorrow. Let alone growing old.
Thoreau said that where you'll be in the future will be determined by the books you read and the people you associate with. So associating with the ones who "have the runs on the board" is always a good starting place. It does rub off!

As they say never judge a book by it's cover any more than you would judge someone by their appearance or age.
After all your turn is coming.
